About Fung Tea
Four Decades of Pu-erh Craftsmanship
Fung Tea is rooted in Menghai, Yunnan, one of the most celebrated origins of authentic Pu-erh tea.
Our story began in 1983 with a simple belief: exceptional tea begins with honest materials, careful craftsmanship and respect for time. For more than four decades, we have worked across tea sourcing, production, blending and ageing to preserve the true character of Yunnan tea.
From ancient-tree gardens in Banzhang to the hands of experienced tea makers, every step is guided by patience, knowledge and a commitment to quality.

Rooted in Menghai
Great Pu-erh begins with the land
In the mountains of Yunnan, ancient tea trees grow slowly among forests, mist and changing seasons. Their deep roots, natural surroundings and long growing cycles give the leaves remarkable fragrance, structure and ageing potential.
Fung Tea works closely with tea-growing communities and selects materials from ancient-tree tea gardens in the Banzhang region, including Lao Banzhang. Every harvest is evaluated according to its origin, season, aroma, strength and ability to develop beautifully over time.
We do not pursue tea simply for volume. We look for leaves that express the character of the mountain from which they came.

From Ancient Trees
Ancient-tree tea is precious not because of a name or a price, but because it is shaped by nature and time.
These trees have grown through generations of changing seasons. They draw from the soil, forest and mountain environment around them, creating leaves with natural depth, energy and complexity.
By maintaining close relationships with tea-growing regions and carefully monitoring the quality of every harvest, Fung Tea protects the authenticity of its raw materials from the beginning.
Our approach is straightforward: respect the land, understand the leaf and allow the tea to reveal its natural character.
Crafted by Experienced Hands
Traditional Pu-erh tea requires more than a recipe. It requires experience.
From picking and withering to fixing, rolling, sun-drying, fermentation, blending, pressing and storage, each stage influences the final character of the tea. Temperature, timing, moisture and the condition of the leaves must all be carefully understood.
Fung Tea's production standards have been developed through decades of hands-on tea-making experience. Our tea makers preserve traditional techniques while applying disciplined quality control throughout the production process.
Every movement has a purpose. Every batch carries the knowledge of the people who made it.
For us, craftsmanship is not simply part of the presentation. It is the foundation of every tea we produce.

Today
More than forty years after the beginning of our journey, Fung Tea continues to carry traditional tea-making knowledge into a new generation.

More Than Tea
Tea is more than a beverage. It is a record of place, time, people and memory.
Throughout its history, Fung Tea has supported cultural projects connected with the Tea Horse Road and the Maritime Silk Road. The brand has also collaborated with tea masters, artists and cultural figures to create commemorative works that bring together tea, history and Chinese artistic expression.
These collaborations reflect our belief that Pu-erh tea is a living part of Chinese culture. It can preserve tradition while continuing to speak to a new generation.
Through each tea, we hope to offer not only flavour, but also a deeper connection with the land and culture from which it came.
Our Promise
