Xianyue & Chuanyun | Handcrafted Gongfu Tea Tray

Xianyue and Chuanyun bring together dense bamboo, natural Wujin stone and a compact Gongfu tea-tray format in a design made for refined daily brewing. Designed for home use and smaller tea-table settings, these trays offer a clean, architectural presentation while keeping teaware stable, organised and neatly contained during use.

Crafted from dense bamboo, the tray body has a warm walnut-toned finish with a smooth, structured profile. The material is valued for its strength, durability and clear natural grain, giving the piece a grounded and understated character suited to both modern and traditional tea settings. Carved bamboo sections provide a practical resting area for the teapot, while the raised tray frame helps guide water neatly across the surface.

Selected versions incorporate a natural Wujin stone panel, adding both visual contrast and functional performance. Wujin stone is appreciated in tea ware for its cool touch, stable surface and softly textured appearance. It provides an elegant resting place for teacups while helping the tray feel more composed and substantial in use. The contrast between the bamboo frame and the dark stone panel gives these trays a quieter, more architectural expression.

A practical feature of the design is its dual-use drainage system. The tray may be used on its own to collect water during a session, or connected to an external drain tube when preferred. This gives greater flexibility depending on whether the tray is being used in a permanent tea corner or brought out for lighter everyday brewing.

Two design expressions are available. Xianyue 弦悅 offers a balanced and restrained layout with a calm, linear rhythm. Chuanyun 川韻 introduces a more decorative carved surface, bringing a slightly more expressive visual detail while maintaining the same composed tea-table feel. Both styles are available in carefully selected size and surface combinations.
