Selected At The Source

One Bud With One Or Two Leaves, Chosen For Balance

Harvesting follows the traditional one bud with one or two young leaves standard, selecting only tender spring growth from the ancient tea trees. This picking style is valued because each part of the shoot contributes something different to the finished tea.

The bud brings delicacy, fragrance and fine texture, while the first and second young leaves contribute greater substance, structure and endurance across repeated infusions. Together, they create a more complete balance than buds alone could provide.

Each shoot is hand-picked and visually inspected in the tea garden. Damaged, diseased or insect-affected leaves are removed, allowing only sound material with appropriate tenderness and maturity to continue into production.
